DEBS24 was a blast!

Today, we close a fantastic and intense week here at INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon.

The 18th ACM International Conference on Distributed and Event-based Systems is now finished, and it was much fun! Insightful talks, discussions, and many memories.

I want to thank my Co-Chair, Angela Bonifati, the program Co-Chairs, Avrilia Floratou and Tilmann Rabl, and the steering committee chair, Boris Koldehofe.

Also a big thank to Andrea Mauri , who handled the financial tasks with INSAVALOR and Samuele Langhi for his restless managment of the website.

Also, the LIRIS, the CNRS, and our sponsors FIL Fédération Informatique de Lyon and Snowflake!

A special thanks go to our amazing keynote speakers, Volker Markl, Tyler Akidau, and Eva Kalyvianaki, who inspired us with their presentations!

Special thanks to the tutorial chairs Pieter Bonte and Andra Denis Ionescu, who selected very nice tutorials by Ulrich Norbisrath, Giselle van Dongen, Steffen Zeuch (and the BIFOLD - Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data groups on https://nebula.stream).

Congratulations to Max Meldrum and Paris Carbone for their Best Paper Award! And to Thomas Heinze for the Test of Time Award!

Big Thanks to Alessandro Margara, Jawad Tahir, Christoph Doblander Dr. Sebastian Frischbier and Luca De Martini for the amazing Grand Challenge! An asset of the DEBS community.

And obviously, a final “thank you” to the other chairs, reviewers, authors, and volunteers, without which the conference wouldn’t be possible! You can find all names here http://2024.debs.org

Now waiting DEBS25 at Chalmers University in Gothenburg
